Never Forget

Happy 2008!

Well, the past few weeks have been quite busy:

• We had a big Christmas party, with lots of folks over for a delicious holiday turkey (Noelle discovered the joys of infusing a bird with tangerine juice, yum!). I don't know exactly how we fit 20-25 people in here, but it worked out somehow.


• My mom came out to visit. She was pretty stoked to not have to deal with three feet of snow. We had Christmas with her and the three of us traveled to SoCal to see Noelle's family. Sadly, Noelle got an extremely nasty stomach bug (or something) which made her trip quite difficult. :-( On the plus side, we stayed at some nice hotels down south, including the Hotel Solamar in the gaslamp district of San Diego. Great place, great location. Mom and I went to the San Diego Zoo and saw pandas and the like. It was kind of interesting celebrating Christmas day at 70 degrees. It was kind of a strange trip.


• For New Year's we didn't want to travel anywhere, so had a bunch of people come over to our house. Rock Band turned out to be extremely popular. Noelle has banned "Say It Ain't So" and "Creep" from her presence. Tivo, it turns out, is a great way to redo the NYE countdown. We must have done that five times. Anyway, the last people who left, left at fourish and there was little destruction to the house, so that was a pretty decent party. A few folks even crashed here for the night.
