Education Secretary Chides PBS For Gay Cartoons

No, not that cartoon. Education Secretary Margaret Spellings chose to make her first act as Secretary to chastise PBS for producing an episode of a children's cartoon featuring same sex couples. Her first act on the job. The unreleased episode features a cartoon bunny named Buster who goes on a trip to Vermont where she meets a couple lesbian couples. The couples are not the focus of the episode, which is more about making maple sugar and that sort of thing. Spellings asked PBS (which has chosen to knuckle under and not distribute it to their affiliates) to refund the Dept of Education money they received for the show. I'm glad she's chosen to start her term on such a high note. [article]
