Another Record Year in 2005

For global temperatures, anyway. NASA data shows that on average, 2005 was the hottest year ever. Some interesting nuggets in this report. The previous hottest year (1998) was an el Nino year, but 2005 was not. However, if one factored out the temperatures about 75N, 1998 was the hotter year. Yep, it was extra hot in the Arctic. You polar bears better brush up on the swimming lessons! Seriously though, 75% of the temperature change of the past century has occurred in the past three decades. Not good. [article]
