Hitchhiker's Guide

Can't tell if the movie was really bad (this is the consensus view) or if my love of Hitchhiker's Guide has been bled off over the years. I've read the books (multiple times), watched the BBC TV show, and listened to the BBC radio version. I enjoyed the movie, but I think it's mostly because of my love of the books. I found myself reciting a lot of lines (and missing a lot of ones they left out). But I wasn't laughing out loud as much I would have expected. Fun, but not (overly) funny. I think the movie is decent at a two hour encapsulation of the book, but I was hoping for more.
